World Heritage City Celebration (WHCC) at the Crystal Tea Room

Global Philadelphia Association proudly presented the World Heritage City Celebration (WHCC) on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Crystal Tea Room. This event celebrated Philadelphia as America's first World Heritage City, honoring its pivotal role in modern democracy and rich cultural assets. The designation enhances Philadelphia's business, culture, and tourism, positioning it as a hub for global connections and sustainable change models for cities worldwide.

The evening featured networking opportunities, a lively performance from the Modero Dance Group and a speaking program. This year, Daniel J. Hilferty, Chairman & CEO of Comcast Spectacor, was honored for his passionate leadership and contributions to Philadelphia, including leading the city’s successful bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Widely respected as a dedicated leader in Philadelphia and beyond, Dan directly oversees Comcast Spectacor’s full portfolio, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Wells Fargo Center, Spectacor Gaming, and more. Bill Marrazzo, the President and CEO of WHYY, Inc., hosted a fireside chat with Dan.
